The TV Workout…?

The holiday season is upon us, the days are shorter and our schedule is getting packed with all the season festivities. It is getting hard to have time and stay motivated to fit in your physical activity. One creative way to squeeze in some physical activity and still get some tv watching in is to do a tv show workout. Below are some examples of workouts you can do while watching your favorite show! The best part about it is, they are all customizable! Whatever your favorite TV show is jot down some key elements that happen in almost every episode, a key phrase, character quirk, with each thing you jotted down come up with an activity you can do for each one (15 jumping jacks, 10 crunches, 15 burpees, etc.).

How To Get Away with Murder workout

Every time Wes is referred to as puppy - 10 Burpees
Annalise enters room - 10 Jumping Jacks
Annalise gets emotional - 15 squats
When Asher is childish - 20 pushups
When there is a character flashback - Jog in place for 30 seconds
Courtroom scene - 20 crunches
Hospital scene - 15 Mountain Climbers

Grey’s Anatomy Workout

When the song “How to Save a Life” is played - 45 second plank
When anyone says “push one of epi” - 10 push-ups
When a trauma is rushed in - 15 mountain climbers
Derek performs a craniotomy - 20 calf raises
Meredith performs an appendectomy (appy) - 20 side crunches (10 on each side)
Christina performs heart surgery - 15 burpees
Meredith and Christina refer to one another as “my person” - 15 sit-ups
Someone’s beeper goes off - 15 jumping jacks
Some one cries - 10 lunges

The Voice

Adam and Blake “fight” - 20 High Knees
A judge stands up - 10 burpees
Miley high-fives Alicia - 5 squats

Anytime someone walks upstairs - 25 high knees
Everytime Sheldon recites a fact - 10 Burpees
Everytime Raj and Howard fight - 15 lunges
Everytime the gang is eating - 20 side crunches (10 on each side)
Anytime Amy, Bernadette and Penny are together - 30 second plank
