Fine particle concentrations are in the lower Code Yellow range today and ozone is hovering in the mid to upper Code Green range. Showers and storms, some of which may be severe, are on tap for tonight and tomorrow. The unsettled weather is will help cleanse the atmosphere and promote Good air quality which is expected to continue on Friday in the wake of a frontal boundary that will sweep through on Thursday night. Sunshine will return on Saturday as the cleaner air mass continues to filter into the area. Ozone production will likely be on the increase due to the sunshine but it is expected to remain within the upper Code Green range. (Perrotte)
